Nistatina

Treats vaginal candidiasis (moniliasis), an infection of the vaginal mucosa that causes whitish lesions. It works by eliminating the fungus, mainly Candida albicans, that causes the infection.

Apply one full applicator of cream intravaginally once daily for 14 days (a higher dose may be needed in severe cases). Use a new sterile applicator each time, lie on your back, insert gently, and push the plunger fully to release the medication. Do not interrupt treatment during the menstrual period.

No special dosage adjustments are needed for older adults; follow the same instructions as other adults.

If you miss a scheduled application, contact your doctor for guidance on when to resume treatment. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

• Do not use for oral, topical, or eye infections.
• May damage latex condoms or diaphragms; avoid barrier contraception during treatment.
• Stop use and tell your doctor if you develop irritation or allergic reaction.
• Do not apply on large skin areas with wounds or burns (risk of intoxication and death).
• Only for adults; children should not use this medication.
• Contains sodium metabisulfite; can cause severe allergies, especially in asthma patients.
• Store at room temperature, protect from light and moisture, and keep out of children’s reach.
