Mirtazapina

A Mirtazapina é um antidepressant used to treat depressive states. It belongs to a class of medications that act on chemical functions in the brain that are imbalanced and responsible for depression.

Take the tablet once daily, preferably at night before bed, with the help of some liquid. The effective daily dose is between 15 mg and 45 mg, with an initial dose of 15 or 30 mg.

Mirtazapina generally starts to take effect after 1-2 weeks of treatment. With an adequate dose, a positive response should be seen within 2-4 weeks. If there is no response after 2-4 additional weeks, treatment should be stopped.

Alcoholic beverages should be avoided during treatment with Mirtazapina. Alcohol may worsen your condition or increase side effects such as dizziness and drowsiness.

In elderly patients, any increase in dose should be done under careful supervision to ensure a satisfactory and safe response.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and wait for the next scheduled dose. Never take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed one.

• Do not drive vehicles or operate machinery during treatment, as your ability and reaction speed may be impaired.
• This medication may cause dizziness, fainting, or loss of consciousness, which may lead to falls or accidents.
• Do not use this medication in children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
• Contains lactose and is not recommended for people with glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
• The 30 mg tablets contain red and black iron oxides that may occasionally cause allergic reactions.
